Santiago Sierra, 800cm of displacement of three concrete cubes of 100cm per side, 2002; Kunsthalle St. Gallen, exhibition "Protest, Respect! Politics as an Aesthetic Category", 13 April 2002

Following the instructions of Santiago Sierra five workers were hired at minimal wage to displace concrete cubes that ressembled Minimal Art exactly 8 meters only with their bare hands and some metal barrs. The Mexican-Spanish conceptual artist unveils through these indecent job offers the cruel mechanisms of free market economy and uses the art context as an amplifier for social injustice.
