Peace
Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zürich
6 November 1999–9 January 2000

Featuring works by a dozen international contemporary artists, 'Peace' illuminated artistic practices that produce peaceful social engagements in an effort to investigate the social relevance of contemporary art. The exhibition both challenged and reiterated definitions of peace through the complex and varied works presented and included discursive, peaceful public programs. Ultimately, the exhibition aimed to reconsider the meaning of peace in contemporary contexts, unveiling the word’s many sociological, psychological, political, moral, and even aesthetic aspects.
